NSCEE receives $500,000 Donation From Bruce Layne Family

The National Supercomputing Center for Energy and the Environment (NSCEE) in partnership with the University of Nevada Health Sciences System will create a center of health information excellence, the Layne Center for Discovery.

The $500,000 donation from the Bruce Layne family will be used to establish a high-performance computer modeling system in support of research that targets complex biological systems associated with neurodegenerative disorders.

The Layne Center for Discovery will serve as a medical research informatics consortium located in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Partners in the proposed Center include the University of Nevada Health Sciences System, NSCEE, and the Lou Ruvo Brain Institute.
