SUN ENTERPRISE[tm] 450 SERVER

The Ultra Enterprise 450 server is a high-performance, shared memory, symmetric- multiprocessing server system. It is designed around Sun's high-speed Ultra Port Architecture (UPA) cross-bar system interconnect and Sun's UltraSPARC[tm] II processors to deliver outstanding overall system performance.

Processing power is provided by four modular UltraSPARC II CPUs, each of which comes with 2 Mbytes of local high-speed external cache memory. To enhance memory I/O performance, the system transfers 64 bytes of data into or from memory on each memory transfer. The system also implements up to four-way memory interleaving, which can significantly reduce the system's average memory access time.

Number of processors 4 UltraSPARC II at 480 MHz
Architecture 64-bit SPARC V9 with VIS instruction set
Cache per processor 8 MB
Main memory 4 GB
Internal disks Four 36.4 GB hot-swap UltraSCSI-3 drives
Operating System Solaris 8
